La Villita’s First-Ever FREE Oktoberfest Celebration

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend of family-friendly fun at the heart of San Antonio as La Villita proudly hosts its very first Oktoberfest celebration! This historic village will come alive with the sights, sounds, and tastes of Germany, offering something for everyone in a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

Explore the Shiner Bier Garten, where you can sing along to lively Oompah music, savor authentic German food and drinks, and put your strength to the test in the exciting Stein Hoisting Competitions. There will be multiple opportunities to compete, but don’t miss the Sam Adams Stein Hoist, where you could win a trip to the Great American Beer Fest and compete against the world’s strongest man!

While La Villita is the heart of this spectacular event, we’re thrilled to have the Bier Garten River Walk return after its closure earlier this year to make way for the extension of Alamo Plaza and Mad Dogs Restaurant Group—with over 10 years of experience hosting Oktoberfest along the River Walk—helping oversee the festivities. Their expertise ensures this event will be one for the books!

There’s no shortage of fun with kid-friendly activities, cooking demonstrations from top local chefs at Maverick Plaza, and live entertainment throughout the weekend. Don’t miss the free performances at the Arneson River Theater and the colorful Oktoberfest Party River Parade, happening all weekend long!

Live Performances by Boerne Village Band, Yodel Blitz, Beethoven Dance Band, Hot Peppers Polka Band, Alsatian Dancers of Texas, Reed Meisters Band, Conjunto Heritage Taller, and more!

For the ultimate experience, upgrade to the Sam Adams VIP Experience at the air-conditioned Historic Cos House. Enjoy a traditional German plated meal, OPEN BAR, live entertainment, and in-and-out privileges. Want even more excitement?
